TextGeneral Wireless today announced the launch of eMMS Toolbar, a toolbar that enables SMS and MMS to be sent easily from Internet Explorer to mobile phones. eMMS technology can also be integrated into other toolbars, meaning Google, Yahoo, Skype and others could all benefit. The Toolbar enables easy sending and forwarding of text, pictures, sound and video from Internet-connected PCs to mobile phones. This provides opportunities for increased revenues for General Wireless customers, which today include Vodafone, Orange and TIM. End users can select text or pictures from any website and easily send them as SMS or MMS from the eMMS Toolbar. “We strongly believe that eMMS Toolbar will significantly increase operators’ SMS and MMS traffic as it is so easy to access on the desktop” said Anders Hardebring, CEO, General Wireless. “By adding the eMMS Toolbar to our product portfolio we and our operator customers can leverage on installed systems and billing relationships.” General Wireless is the market leader in the PC-to-mobile messaging market, according to Frost & Sullivan, which predicts that total revenues from PC-to-mobile messaging will reach EUR 424.4 million by 2010. Revenues in 2004 were EUR 34.5 million for the sector. The number of users of PC-to-mobile messaging is expected to increase from 490,000 to more than 12 million. General Wireless currently has more than 20 mobile operator customers, including mobile giants Vodafone, Orange, TIM, 3, KPN and TeliaSonera. In total these contracts cover more than 130 million subscribers and all of these operators can now easily offer the eMMS Toolbar to their subscribers and thereby leverage on installed systems and billing relationships with its customers. General Wireless will demonstrate the eMMS Toolbar at 3GSM in Barcelona in Hall 2, Stand G26/27. Try eSMS for free on www.sms4windows.com

HeadlineReport: How to get success - in the 3. Generation Value Added Service Market
SubheadingStrand consult is now ready with our next report - 359 pages on how the future mobile services market will develop, how the value chain will evolve and what is necessary to achieve success as a player on the mobile services market.
TextThe market for mobile services started with primitive information services delivered via SMS. With the introduction of Nokia's smart messaging, a market for ring tones was created that was stimulated by premium SMS’s that worked across operators – with the introduction of one short code that worked across all operators, a whole new industry was created with a revenue in Western Europe of over 2 billion Euro in 2004. We believe the market for mobile services will continue to develop positively, but that the introduction of new technologies and more advanced mobile phones combined with the fact that many operators are under financial pressure, will lead to a paradigm shift on the mobile services market. You should not purchase this unique report if you believe that: -The market for mobile services will just grow and grow -That the success story of ring tones will repeat itself in other areas -That the costs of running a services business will decrease over time -That it will be technologically easy to deliver the new service technologies -That the mobile industry's value chain will not change -That media companies will continue to leave a large part of the market to the aggregators -That players like Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens etc. will not interfere -That the operators will not introduce new revenue sharing models -That new ways of marketing, selling and purchasing services will not develop If you have a belief that the market for mobile services will just continue to grow over time and the introduction, implementation, sales and marketing of new services will be easy, there is absolutely no need to purchase this new report. Strand Consult has spent over 24 man months analysing the mobile services market, what it looks like and how it is developing. The reports is a follow-up to our three earlier reports about the mobile services market ”Show me the money”, ”How to make money” and "The Korean Services Market". We have looked at the historical development, how the mobile markets are developing and how this will affect the future mobile markets. As the new mobile handsets with colour screens, cameras, advanced operating systems, GPRS/EDGE and UMTS are becoming more and more widespread - together with numerous new service platforms - the future market is becoming much more complex than the one we know from premium SMS services. The value chain for mobile services will change; new players and new rules will create a paradigm shift. We examine the value chain, how it is developing and the future players on that value chain. Who will be the winners and who will be the losers? Have you considered which services that will be popular in the near future, which handsets a service provider should focus on and how will the interaction be between mobile handsets, networks and the platforms that will ensure that customers get the right services on their handsets? And what will the role of the mobile operator be? The complexity is increasing and it will not only be more difficult to be part of the market, but also more expensive to move in the market. This extensive new report examines for example: -How will the handset market develop and what effect will it have on the services market? -How will the value chain develop in the short, medium and long-term? -What role will the operators have on the services market of the future? -Which platforms should one use to do business in the services markets of the future? -Which platforms will the operators focus on in the future - and why? -What are Nokia’s, Ericsson’s, Macromedia’s, Qualcomm’s, Opera’s - and 12 other companies’ strategies? -Technical and commercial analysis of 12 platform environments. -Analysis of a number of operators’ strategies. This 359 page reports is unique and already sold to a number of operators, large service providers and the number of the largest technological companies in the mobile sector.
