| What is Wireless Scandinavia? Wireless Scandinavia is a portal for – and about – the wireless industry Scandinavia. Here you will find not only information about the wireless industry, links to the mobile universe, but also information about the many companies that do business in this sector in Scandinavia. Our aim with this portal is to create a forum where the different players in the industry can meet and exchange knowledge and expand their networks. Wireless Scandinavia gives you access to knowledge, contacts, business contacts and new business opportunities. Which countries are represented on Wireless Scandinavia? Wireless Scandinavia covers the whole of the Scandinavian region, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Island, The Faeroe Isles and Greenland. Although we could also have called ourselves Wireless Nordic, many more people around the world know the term Scandinavia. Why not call it Wireless Nordic? The idea of the portal is to help companies in the Scandinavian region to expand outside the region. Our experience is that many more people around the world know whereabouts the Scandinavian region is in the world. That is also why we have included Nordic countries outside Scandinavia on the portal. Island, The Faeroe Isles and Greenland are not actually Scandinavian. How can our company get on Wireless Scandinavia? If your company has some sort of relationship to the Scandinavian region by having e.g. offices in one of the Scandinavian/Nordic countries, or you have employees, research, development or production in the region, then you are welcome to be included on the portal. The companies on the portal will range from companies heavily into research, across companies in production, marketing or sales and over to companies that distribute different types of services and products. They span from companies that develop anything from infrastructure and technology, to operators, mobile phone manufacturers and small start-up companies that are marketing and selling mobile services to the consumers. Can companies outside the region promote themselves on Wireless Scandinavia? We are very interested in starting business relationships with companies outside our region. Use the Search function to find companies that could be attractive for you to take a closer look at, or sign up for our newsletters and stay up to date on the latest developments in the Scandinavian wireless industry. We would also like to work with organisations or others that arrange conferences or events that can help promote companies for Wireless Scandinavia. Does it cost money to be on Wireless Scandinavia? Most of the services on Wireless Scandinavia are free for companies that are already on the portal. There is no charge to join the portal or upload e.g. press releases etc. In the longer term we will be developing a number of premium products that companies on the portal – or visiting the portal - will be able to use. Who is financing Wireless Scandinavia? Wireless Scandinavia is being financed by Strand Consult and sponsored by Synkron. Events and activities such as conferences and match making events will be paid for by the delegates and sponsors. Who owns the rights to the WS brand? Wireless Scandinavia is a trade mark owned by Strand Consult and cannot be used without our written permission. Wireless Scandinavia will protect our rights and the concept that is the foundation of the portal. Who are Wireless Scandinavia’s competitors? There is nothing similar at the present time. The portal is a tool for the players in this business. As the portal grows and more and more companies and organisations sign up and use the portal, the easier it will become to stimulate, promote and market wireless companies, services, events and products in – and outside – the Scandinavian region. What makes Wireless Scandinavia unique? The portal is unique in that it is the first place where a whole industry in such a large region of 25 million people and 16 mobile operators can be found in one place. We will bring the players closer together and help this region to move ahead as more and more innovative companies launch and grow. Scandinavia is much more than just the birthplace of Nokia and Ericsson. Who can upload press releases on Wireless Scandinavia? Companies that meet our criteria will be admitted on Wireless Scandinavia and can upload press releases for free on the portal. We have a standard form to use and once the content has been approved by us, it will be available to visitors on the portal. The newsletters will also include the headlines from press releases uploaded to the portal. What does it cost to upload press releases on Wireless Scandinavia? There is no charge to upload press releases. The only criteria is that you are registered on the portal. Can we be included in a Wireless Scandinavia’s newsletter? Our newsletters are compiled by our own editorial staff. You cannot buy your way in or advertise in the newsletters. This would jeopardise our integrity and neutrality – the foundation of the portal and concept. Can we nominate a company to be in the ”Pearl of Scandinavia”? We are always on the outlook for companies that make a difference – both nationally and internationally. Although we are on our toes, you are very welcome to send any suggestions to us about companies you feel deserve the extra attention that the ”Pearls of Scandinavia” newsletter would give them and thereby get some international recognition for the work they are doing. Can we advertise conferences or events on Wireless Scandinavia? You are welcome to contact our staff, so we can evaluate whether your conference or event is relevant to visitors to the portal. We are working together with a number of companies that arrange conferences. We can also work with you in a number of different ways including making mutual marketing deals and commercial partnerships. Please contact us to learn more. Can Wireless Scandinavia help us arrange a conference or event? We are interested in talking to companies that arrange conferences outside our region and that would like to arrange and market conferences that focus on the Scandinavian region. We can offer to use our brand and help with getting the right contacts and speakers and of course, to market the conference online on the portal to all our users and visitors. Can we partner or work together with Wireless Scandinavia? Wireless Scandinavia is very interested in working with different players that can help stimulate our users and visitors in the work. Please do contact us if you have suggestions as to how we can create value together and pool our resources to create extra services and tools etc. for our visitors. Can Wireless Scandinavia help us find financing? We have close relationships to a number of international venture capital companies. You can find some of them in our links pages. We hope that the portal will help both national and international investors to see the potential – and to focus on wireless companies and products coming out of the Scandinavian region. |
